Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care to animals in our facility. The ideal candidate will possess a genuine love for animals and a strong commitment to their well-being. This position requires physical stamina and the ability to handle various tasks associated with animal care.

Duties

Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising dogs.
Maintain cleanliness in the kennel area by cleaning cages, kennels, and common areas.
Monitor the health and behaviour of animals, reporting any concerns to management.
Assist with administering medications as directed by management.
Ensure that all animals receive adequate socialisation and attention throughout the day.
Interact with pet owners in a friendly and professional manner, providing updates on their pets' well-being.
Assist with the intake and discharge of animals, ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed accurately.
Answering of phone to take bookings and answer general enquiries.
Ability to commit to 5 days a week, to include weekends.
due to location a driver with own vehicle is preferred but not necessary.
be able to do general housekeeping duties, such as laundering of dog bedding, keeping reception and staff kitchen clean.
be a team key player who has the motivation to work on their own initiative and also take instruction from others.
have a basic understanding of dogs body language, full training will be given.
have high standards of cleaning.
Qualifications

Previous experience in animal care or veterinary settings is preferred but not essential.
Ability to perform heavy lifting as required when handling larger breeds or moving equipment.
Strong customer service skills to effectively communicate with pet owners and team members.
A genuine passion for animal welfare and a commitment to providing high-quality care.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.

This job is paid minimum wage £11.44 per hour for applicants over 21 and £8.60 per hour for applicants 18-20.
