About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and qualified Electrician Assessor/Tutor to join our team in East London. This role is ideal for a skilled electrician with a passion for training and assessing apprentices and learners in electrical installation and related disciplines.
You will be responsible for delivering engaging training sessions, assessing learners' work, and ensuring they meet industry standards. You will work with apprentices, adult learners, and professionals looking to upskill.
Key Responsibilities:
✅ Deliver high-quality teaching, training, and assessment in Electrical Installation (Level 2 & 3)
✅ Assess and support learners in achieving their qualifications through practical and theory-based assessments
✅ Plan, prepare, and develop teaching materials and schemes of work in line with awarding body standards
✅ Conduct workplace visits and assessments to support apprentices' progress
✅ Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety regulations
✅ Provide feedback, guidance, and support to learners to help them succeed
✅ Track and record learners' progress using internal systems
✅ Work collaboratively with employers, training providers, and awarding bodies to ensure high-quality learning experiences
Requirements:
✔ Must hold an NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent)
✔ Recognised Teaching Qualification (PTLLS, DTLLS, AET, Cert Ed, or PGCE) – desirable but not essential (training can be provided)
✔ Assessor Qualification (A1, TAQA, CAVA, or equivalent) – preferred but not essential
✔ Minimum 3 years’ experience in the electrical industry
✔ Knowledge of 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671)
✔ Strong understanding of apprenticeships and work-based learning
✔ Good communication and IT skills
✔ Full UK Driving Licence (for site visits)
