MERSEYSIDE AREA
Hours: Part time, 25 hours per week
Contract: Permanent
Salary: £15,600 per annum

Are you passionate about making a difference? Merseyside Society for Deaf People is looking for a Support Worker to join our friendly team, where you will provide vital support to Deaf and Deaf-Blind adults living in Liverpool, Wirral and Sefton.
You will deliver a person-centred service that helps make everyday life easier for our clients, supporting them in their homes and communities. If you are dedicated, compassionate, and excited about this rewarding role, we'd love to receive an application from you!
Applicants must know British Sign Language and be willing to learn Deaf Blind Guiding techniques to be able to undertake this role.
The successful candidate will be responsible to:
· Support clients to live independently in the community
· Support clients with their individual needs as per their support plans
· Support clients with shopping
· Assist clients with accessing services and activities
· Assist clients with translation of letters and telephone calls
Essential Criteria for this role:
· Cheerful and patient attitude to work
· Excellent interpersonal skills
· British Sign Language skills
· Understanding of safeguarding
· Driver with access to a car, which is insured for business use
Desirable Criteria for this role:
· Ability to guide and communicate with Deafblind clients (Training can be provided)
· BSL Level 2 qualification
Being an MSDP employee you will receive:
· Training and development opportunities
· 27 Days of Annual Leave increasing to 32 days per year after 5 years’ service (pro-rata for part-time employees
· DBS Certificate
· Sick Pay
