Crynodeb
Resident doctors will be well supported in all clinical areas with a full induction programme. Although this is a non-training post you will be allocated an Educational Supervisor. The responsibilities of a resident doctor in Neonatology will include: Ensuring continuity of medical care for babies on the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and transitional care. Undertaking routine newborn examination Attending high risk deliveries and performing newborn resuscitation (when deemed competent) Participation in the tier 1 on-call rota The responsibilities of a resident doctor in General Paediatrics will include: Reviewing children referred by GPs for an urgent paediatric opinion on PAU Reviewing children referred by our paediatric ED department Medical supervision of Day Case treatments and investigations eg. Blood transfusion, food challenges, infusions Co-ordination of care of children admitted to HDU and the childrens ward Ensuring timely communication with primary care when children are discharged Participation in the tier 1 on-call rota Participation in post-take handover following a night on-call The post holder will be encouraged and supported to develop other areas of expertise which might be a clinical service or a technical skill.
