Salary: Grade B - £12.26 to £12.65 per hour (equivalent to £23,656 to £24,404 per annum pro rata)

The Opportunity:

The Council’s Wellbeing and Culture Service has some exciting opportunities for passionate individuals to work within their Culture and Heritage Team based at the award-winning Erewash Museum located at Dalby House based in Ilkeston, Derbyshire.

The council is looking for individuals with a passion for the Museum, Culture and Heritage sector to assist with their operations.

The museum is open to the public Thursday to Saturday 11am – 4pm. The positions are casual, and shifts will therefore be allocated on the basis of service need, however the primary required working days for these advertised positions is Saturday working. During school holidays the museum extends its operations and there will be a requirement for additional shifts during these periods.

About you:

The council’s ambition for their Wellbeing and Culture Service is to provide opportunities for residents relating to culture, arts and heritage whilst improving their health and wellbeing and having fulfilling experiences through its key asset at Erewash Museum, therefore experience of working in a customer service environment is essential.

The successful candidates will work with other museum staff to deliver the council’s cultural and heritage education programme during term-time, therefore the ability to lead activities is essential. The education programme will be delivered during term-time Monday to Friday and the opportunity for additional shifts during this time will be required.

Working within a team of staff, you will assist with the operational delivery of the service at Erewash Museum, working on events, exhibitions, and activities. The ability to cover work at short notice is desirable.
