Job Purpose:To coordinate the management of wound care dressings and products, PPE, and equipmentfor the service. Key responsibilities include performing stock checks and reordering stock that is eitherout of date or needs replenishing. Maintaining accurate stock level databases and providing weeklyreports to the Operational Manager. To be responsible for the coordination of annual checks to allequipment in line with Trust policies by liaising with appropriate teams inside and outside of theOrganisation ensuring all equipment remains fit for purpose.Principal Responsibilities:1. To deliver and maintain a high standard of work to support the effective operational delivery ofthe service.2. Work in a flexible way to meet the needs of the service.3. Assume accountability and responsibility for own decisions.4. To work unsupervised by managing own workload.5. To prioritise own workload and work to defined timescales Wound Care Stock Management 1. To carry out a weekly stock check at all bases.2. Checking expiry dates on all wound care products and disposing of all out-of-date items in linewith Mersey Care Wound Care Policy.3. To inform Operational Manager of any discrepancies during the stock check.4. Replenish medication stock weekly as per pre agreed minimum and maximum stock levels andinform Operational Manager of all orders placed.5. To check and log all new stock orders that arrive, ensuring they are stored away appropriately in each base.6. To immediately act upon wound care product alerts and cross reference batch numbers against existing stock.7. To support clinical staff with Wound Care audits and spot checks.8. To carry out weekly stock check at all bases of regular stock.9. To check and log all new stock orders that arrive, ensuring they are stored away appropriately ineach base.10. To maintain stock databases and keep them up to date and relevant to support other staff toundertake role if required. Safety1. To be responsible for coordination and checking that all relevant equipment has received itsannual checks in line with the Trust policies.2. To keep records of all checks completed and inform operational manager of any issues.3. To be the point of contact for the clinical team for all wound care products that need replacing or condemning. Financial1. To meet regularly with the Tissue Viability Nurse and operational manager to discuss budget forstock.2. To liaise with the Tissue Viability Nurse, operational manager, and procurement team if any issueswith ordering of stock i.e., specific stock not available and alternative is not as cost efficient.3. To look for alternative stock/equipment for products that are more cost efficient. Learning & Development1. To provide evidence to support development around the Trust appraisal system which mayinclude competency profiles.2. Participate in regular supervision, engage in reflective practice, and be committed to continueddevelopment.3. Develop own skills and knowledge and contribute to the development of others. Clinical Governance, Research & Audit1. To maintain a database of stock and equipment, recording all stock and restock levels.2. To participate in Wound Care Product audits and equipment in order to evidence qualityand cost effectiveness. Communication1. To be the first point of contact with regards to wound care products enquiries.2. To develop effective interpersonal relationships with colleagues in the Health Care setting.3. Liaise with agencies outside of the Trust when placing stock orders.4. To keep an up to date and relevant document folder to support others to undertake the role if necessary.
