Teesside University is recruiting an Academic Registry Manager, with the Student Learning & Academic Registry department. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to lead and innovate academic governance, quality policy, regulations and standards across the University. The primary functions of Academic Registry are Partnership and Course Approval and Review, Assessment Regulations, curation of the University’s Quality Framework, External Examining and management of the University’s Continuous Monitoring & Enhancement process.

As a senior member of Academic Registry, you will demonstrate leadership, empowerment, innovation and creativity in ensuring the workstream evolves to meet the needs of our diverse academic portfolio, delivering excellence. You will work with stakeholders across the University, and with regulatory bodies such as the Office for Students and other external statutory organisations. Using sector knowledge and a data-driven approach, you will influence and implement consistent approaches that safeguard and enhance the University's academic standards. Applicants should be able to demonstrate the ability to modernise approaches to academic governance and sustainability of associated functions, along with playing an instrumental role in the University’s preparations for the next Teaching Excellence Framework.

Along with a proven track record of team leadership and resilience-building, the successful candidate is required to be educated to degree level or have equivalent professional experience. It is essential you have a good understanding of the UK HE regulatory and quality assurance landscape, alongside excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. The post holder should have substantial experience of academic governance, quality, policy and regulatory activities within a HE setting.
