Applications are invited for the post of Consultant in Rhinology, Anterior Skullbase Surgery and ENT.

This is a new full time substantive post working alongside the current Rhinology Consultant in providing tertiary and secondary care to the region.

The Rhinology service currently offers a sinonasal and skull base oncology, tertiary inflammatory, Cystic Fibrosis and HHT services. The ENT department at Addenbrooke’s Hospital provides a comprehensive service for all ENT conditions and consists of 14 Consultants. There are strong, close working relationships with Neurosurgery, ICU, Respiratory and Paediatric specialties. The department runs a busy skull base service which this post would be involved with alongside the head and neck service. There is room to expand facial plastic surgery services either through the ENT service or in conjunction with our plastic surgery and cleft surgery team. The successful candidate will participate on the Consultant on-call rota.

You will be fully registered with the GMC and ideally have achieved CCT or be within six months of award of CCT at the time of interview. Applications are welcomed from those unable to work full time for personal reasons or those wishing to job-share.

Leadership is a key requirement of doctors’ professional work and this innovative programme is designed to support Consultants to hone the leadership and management skills they need to succeed at CUH.

The applicant must have demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking in English that enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, as set out in the GMC’s Good Medical Practice (2013). Non-UK applicants must possess the IELTS/OET exam before obtaining a GMC licence to practice.
