Skills & Experience:

Level 3 Motor Vehicle Qualification
Knowledge of health and safety procedures involved in the repair and maintenance of a municipal fleet
Knowledge of current transport related issues
Considerable experience in one or more of the following; Inspection & audit processes, municipal fleet maintenance and repair, general fabrication or use of complex diagnosis equipment.
Experience of contributing to policy/procedure formulation.
Experience in performance management ensures the delivery of projects/services to meet objectives.
Experience of verbal communication with a range of audiences (including members of the public).
Well-developed ability to manage a challenging workload under pressure and to deadlines, using own initiative and demonstrating skills in work prioritisation, organisation and time management.



What's involved with this role: Your role is to deliver the planned schedule of maintenance and repairs to the Councils municipal fleet assets to the standard required by the relevant legislation.

Key responsibilities:

Inspect, repair and maintain the municipal fleet assets operated by the Council to the standard required by the relevant statutory and regulatory bodies
Provide professional advice and guidance to the service users on municipal vehicle maintenance and repair.
Carry out manual and physically demanding work associated with the repair and maintenance of a municipal fleet
Ensure the Health & Safety of all resources within the post holder’s area of responsibility
Maintain awareness of policies and procedures which impact on how the service is delivered.
Prepare and present detailed results from complex diagnosis equipment
Continuously review and evaluate service provision to ensure it is fit for purpose, drives continuous improvement and is effectively using available resources
