Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated PACS Team Leader to join the PACS team at North Bristol NHS Trust. This post is based in the Brunel Building at Southmead.
You will Manage the day-to-day running of the PACS office and the Imaging PACS team and will support the PACS Manager therefore experience of managing staff is essential.
You will equally share the 24/7 on call service with the Imaging PACS Manager and PACS Administration team.
You will be based in an office with a working with a small team accessing and supporting exceptionally high-quality systems, administration and data management. You must have the ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, have excellent organisational and communication skills.
You must be proficient in IT and knowledge of the hospital systems, such as ICE (Intergraded Order-com System), CRIS (Computerised Radiology and Information System) and PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) would be advantageous but not essential.
You must have a flexible approach to work and be able to prioritise your workload to meet tight deadlines.
This role is full time 37.5hrs per week
Monday – Friday 8.30am – 4.30pm

The post holder is a member of the Imaging PACS team based within the Imaging Department. The team is responsible for providing the first level of support for all designated Imaging PACS related issues.
This would include support of software, hardware and PC applications for Imaging based systems. In addition, extraction of data from the Imaging systems is required.
The post holder will manage the day-to-day running of the office and the Imaging PACS team.
In the absence of the Imaging PACS Manager, the post holder will be responsible to supervise the area and prepare hand over documentation to the Imaging PACS Manager for their return. In their absence the post holder will be expected to ensure all aspects of the service is covered.
The post holder will equally share the 24/7 on-call service with the Imaging PACS Manager and designated Radiographers to ensure continuity of service, assisting the Radiographers if they have issues they cannot deal with.

1. Maintains up-to-date and accurate databases for systems used in Imaging and be aware of all interfacing systems.
2. Extracts data from current databases to support NBT business initiatives.
3. Ensures that all requests for assistance, by telephone, e-mail or in person, are handled promptly and effectively.
4. Provide general and first-line technical resolutions to patients, imaging staff, NBT and external agencies problems.
5. Provide advice, information and training for imaging staff, NBT and external users unable to access specific applications.
6. For all requests that cannot be directly resolved, provides an effective interface at the highest level between imaging and suppliers; ensures that fault diagnosis, priority setting and escalation procedures are applied effectively and that all complaints are responsibly and professionally resolved.
7. Enforce Data Protection and Information Security Policies are adhered to by users and any advice given as required.
8. Advises and assists colleagues in the provision of services, both internal and external.
9. Arranges site visits by suppliers to resolve persistent or high impact problems.
10. Provide feedback of problem progress on a regular basis to relevant individual or service areas.
11. To maintain appropriate documentation and logs relating to the PACS Systems.
12. To equally share the 24/7 on-call service with the Manager and designated Radiographers to ensure continuity of service, assisting the Radiographers if they have issues they cannot deal with.
13. Lead the PACS team ensuring all work is completed efficiently and promptly.
14. Assist the imaging PACS team with any issues they are unable to resolve.
15. Create and update workflows and SOP (Standard Operation Procedures), ensuring the new/updated workflow is followed by the imaging PACS team.
16. Integrates new imaging equipment to the PACS, (Picture Archiving and Communication System), testing to ensure the workflow completes from beginning to end.
17. Allocates accounts and gives initial training on the imaging systems, for both NBT and external users.
18. To undertake any other duties assigned by the Imaging Services Manager and Imaging PACS Manager.
