Butler & Gee is a well-established and respected private accountancy practice based in Barnard Castle. We provide a comprehensive range of accounting services to a diverse portfolio of clients.
A rare opportunity has arisen for a highly organised and experienced Office Manager to join our friendly team. The role will be initially full time (35 hours), although consideration will be given to part-time working after a period of time.
ABOUT THE ROLE
You will play a crucial role in the smooth and efficient running of our busy professional office. You will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations including managing workflow schedules to ensure all deadlines are met. This is a varied and hands-on role, requiring excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a proactive and problem-solving approach.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Client Liaison: Acting as the first point of contact for clients, onboarding, registrations, handling enquiries, scheduling appointments and providing excellent customer service. Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients.
• Process Improvement: Identifying and implementing improvements to office procedures and systems where necessary.
• Team Support: Providing administrative support to the team including maintenance of client records.
• Compliance: Ensuring the practice adheres to all relevant regulations and legislation.
• Marketing Support: Assisting with marketing activities, such as updating the website, advertising and social media platforms.
• Project Support: Assisting with various projects and mailshots.
ABOUT YOU
• Proven experience in a similar office management role, ideally within a professional services environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) is desirable.
• A proactive and problem-solving approach.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A positive and can-do attitude.
