Bramshaw Ward are excited to be advertising the position of a band 5 Staff Nurse. We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic registered Nurse to join our friendly team. Candidates must demonstrate compassion, with an interest in women’s health and a drive to provide dignified and sensitive care to people during their time of need.
We are an 18-bedded ward, based at the Princess Anne Hospital, specialised in caring for a wide range of gynaecology patients. This includes gynae-oncology, urogynae, early pregnancy and more. We work closely with the MDT, early pregnancy unit, theatres, day-gynae unit and other services to offer optimum care and support for elective and emergency patients. We operate a 24-hour service, taking emergency admissions out-of-hours from our emergency department and other routes of admission, most commonly for gynaecology emergencies and pregnancy related problems up to 20 weeks gestation.
If you are looking into further developing your acute clinical and leadership skills, in a fast-paced ever-changing environment that has meeting women’s need as their flagship, this is your opportunity.
The successful candidate can expect a smooth transition – with an individualised supernumerary period (including time spent in our neighbouring departments), supportive ward team and an education team who are committed to team development.
If you wish to learn more about this great opportunity, please do get in touch.
Attached you will find the person specification document which provides more detail about the essential and desirable skills and experience needed for this role. We highly recommend you review this document and use it when completing your application as these criteria are used by hiring managers as guidance during shortlisting.
For an overview of the main duties of the role please see the ‘Job Description and Main Responsibilities’ section below. To understand the day-to-day responsibilities in more detail please read the full job description document attached.

We believe that using technology wisely shows strong time management and commitment to innovation. However, personalizing your recruitment application to highlight your unique skills and experiences is crucial. Relying too heavily on generic, AI-generated content instead of drawing from your own strengths and accomplishments may lead to your application being rejected if multiple candidates present identical or similar information.
