Summary
The Role
Evaluating the impact defence is having on the environment and the opportunities and constraints of a changing environmental, economic and policy landscape on defence, developing solutions to respond including improve our data, baseline information and insights for sustainability and our policy and strategy response.
Working closely across the Department, Industry and Academia, Other Government Departments and Devolved Administrations to ensure we maintain a current view of policy, legislative developments and sustainable finance.
Support negotiations and influencing on behalf of MOD to provide direction and ensure defence capabilities and interests are represented and maintained.
Working closely with defence organisations and functions, such as the armed forces, finance or projects to understand their CC&S strategy and processes. Enabling you to propose interventions, innovation and responses to ensure the Department supports the delivery of the our own and Governments climate change and sustainability objectives and complies with commitments and statutory duties place on the department.
Work closely with the wider Climate Change and Environment Team, intervening when policy and strategically critical issues arise in the delivery of the strategic approach.
Provide advice and guidance to Ministers and Senior Official and deliver accurate and timely responses to Ministerial Enquiries and Parliamentary Business
Represent the Directorate to others, giving training, advice and inputting on internal communications and engagement activity.
