An opportunity has arisen for a Team Leader to work within the day services. This is a day programme for those experiencing an eating disorder andis basedat the Maudsley hospital.

You willrequirea good understanding of how eating disordersimpact onindividual’s lives and be able to work to promote recovery as defined by the service user. You will bring core skills of aclinicianand contribute to risk management and physical health monitoring.


There is a strong emphasis on group and individual work focusedaroundsocial inclusion and recovery. The post holder will be expected to deliverinterventions whichare contextually relevant and may be carried out in a variety of settings relevant to the service user.

The Eating Disorder Unit (EDU) is internationally renowned for providing best practice, evidence-based care for adults with the full range of eating disorder difficulties. Outpatient treatments include guided self-help,groupand individual interventions. We are the developers of MANTRA, now recommended as part of NICE 2017 guidelines for the treatment of Anorexia Nervosa, and of FREED (First Episode Rapid Early Intervention for Eating Disorders).





We offer opportunities for ongoing training and collaboration with colleagues across the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust and the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neurosciences at King’s College London.

To have management responsibility for the delivery of careof Eating Disorders Outpatients and Day care department,in accordance withTrust policies and procedures.


The post holder will be crucial in role modelling safe and effective practice with the service


The role involves leadingthe delivery ofhigh qualityevidence-based practice, ensuring that regular supervision and appraisals take place.


Management of administrative and operational resources in a cost- effective manner and evaluating the standard of service delivered are essential.


It will involve line management and co-ordination of the wider multidisciplinary team,maintainingexcellent communication and working relationships with all team members, and other services within the Trust, to ensure effective interface and continuity of care between disciplines and services.


The postholderwillbe responsible forensuring that staff within the Team achieve positive outcomes for adults with eating disorders and that these areevidencedby performance indicators such as activity data,targetsand quality measures.


Working inpartnership with agencies and other services to support integrated practice and service delivery.


Manage your own caseload which will be negotiated to reflect the demand of the management role.


There is an expectation that the post holder will place the needs of service users at thecentreof care delivery.


The postholder must be able to work flexible across the wider ED servicewhen neededto support with clinical demands and provide safe care to patients
