Summary
The post-holder will be accountable to the Clinical Director for Specialist Ambulatory Services, and responsible to the dermatology Service Leads, Clinical Lead for general dermatology, Clinical Lead for medical dermatology, Team Lead for the Photobiology Service and Team Lead for the Xeroderma Pigmentosa Service. Job Summary: To provide a lead role in the provision, strategic development and research objectives of the. National Commissioning Group Service. To contribute to the management and development of the XP clinical service. To work in and support the Photodermatology Service. To participate in clinical and other service activities with the object of ensuring a high standard of patient care. To take an active part in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and training. Duties and responsibilities: Clinical: The postholder will, together with consultant colleagues, be responsible for the provision of dermatology services to the Guys & St Thomas NHS Foundation Trust to include: Adult general services Xeroderma pigmentosum and photodermatoses Outpatient monodisciplinary and multidisciplinary clinics in Xeroderma Pigmentosum Outpatient clinics in Photodermatology Organise, timetable and run the multidisciplinary Xeroderma Pigmentosum clinics Organise and run the multidisciplinary Xeroderma Pigmentosum team meetings. With the help of the XP Outreach CNSs, organise and run the care for XP patients remotely via the outreach network as required Liaise with the XP diagnostic lab services as necessary for care of XP patients. Be responsible for training and development within the XP service Liaise with Action for XP as necessary Liaise with the XP diagnostic lab services and develop as necessary for care of XP patients. Take part in Dermatology Consultant on call rota Diagnosis and treatment of patients of the trust in such hospitals, health centres or clinics or other premises as required. Continuing clinical responsibility for the patients in your charge, allowing for all proper delegation to, and training of, your staff.
