The Great Western Hospital are currently looking to expand their Radiology Department to support the recovery and current demand within diagnostics. The Radiology Department has recently undergone a £5.5 million equipment replacement programme including replacement of plain film rooms, CT, Interventional and Mobile equipment.
This is a fantastic opportunity for established Radiographers with NHS experience looking to increase their knowledge and work with state-of-the-art equipment.
Currently offering a 5% recruitment and retention premia.
The Radiology Department undertakes approximately 251,300 examinations a year ranging over a variety of modalities. The successful applicant will be a keen team player who has image quality and patient care high on their agenda with a flexible approach to working hours. The department supports the development of your clinical skills and education, we encourage staff CPD.
The Great Western Hospital conducts diagnostic radiological examinations across a range of clinical specialities, adapting techniques to accommodate a range of patient types; both as an autonomous practitioner and as part of a multidisciplinary team, in a manner that meets professional, departmental and legal requirements.

• To work as a CT radiographer including cardiac scans, CT colons, plain film and fluro participation.
• To independently assess and justify referrals under IR(ME)R 2000 following practitioner guidelines where appropriate.
• Able to interpret Clinician’s requirements, to determine the appropriate radiographic imaging technique and ensure that it is performed in accordance with best practice and that the resultant
images are diagnostic.
• To use discretion to work outside of departmental standards when clinical circumstances necessitate i.e. undertaking additional or specialist techniques
