Fixed term contract - until July 2026.

Part-time, 17.5 hours per week.

The Opportunity:

The appointee will be responsible for developing user interfaces, creating game content, and evaluating student and staff usage of a new educational game called The Bridge, that we are developing in house. The Bridge is an online educational game that will simulate graduate career scenarios in several roles central to the development of a major piece of civil infrastructure. The game is primarily text-/voice-based and will be played in both off-campus and in-person sessions as part of a fourth-year experiential learning course that is intended to develop social, emotional and behavioural skills that are strongly correlated with future career success. You will also contribute to the design of this course.

The successful applicant will have PhD in Digital Education or a related field, or equivalent experience, and experience of developing user interfaces and evaluating educational innovations.

This role is Grade UoE7 and is available on a fixed term basis until July 2026, with the potential for further extension subject to project funding.

Your skills and attributes for success:

Experience of conducting educational research
Experience of developing responsive, interactive web interfaces with javascript and HTML
Experience of analysing and presenting data with code-based tools e.g. python
Excellent technical problem-solving skills;
Experience of communicating complex written and oral information clearly, with colleagues at all levels
