Following well documented fire tragedies, the entire fire protection industry is undergoing major reform. Our clients and industry bodies are becoming increasingly upskilled in fire safety systems, compliance and regulation and as a result are now engaging more heavily with businesses such as CLM to ensure specialism and compliance.

The Role:
We are looking for a motivated and hands-on Site Based Apprentice to join our remedial Social Housing team and build a rewarding career in firestopping. This apprenticeship offers practical, on-the-job training while working alongside experienced fireproofing professionals.
You will develop essential trade skills, gain valuable industry qualifications, and play a crucial role in ensuring that buildings meeting fire safety regulations.

What you will gain:
• NVQ Level 2 Qualification in Fire Stopping
• CSCS Card – essential for working on sites
• Accredited FIRAS Fire Stopper Certification to demonstrate industry competence
• Training in Manual Handling, COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health), and Asbestos Awareness.

Responsibilities:
• Assist experienced Firestoppers in installing and maintaining fire stopping systems.
• Learn to apply-resistant materials to walls, floors, and other structures to prevent fire spread.
• Understand site safety protocols and contribute to maintaining a safe working environment.
• Handle manual tasks related to firestopping, including cutting, fitting and sealing materials.
• Gain knowledge of construction site procedures, regulations, and health & safety standards.
• Work with tools, equipment, and materials under expert guidance.

• A keen interest in construction and passive fire protection
• Willingness to learn and work in a hands-on environment
• Good attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
• Physically fit and comfortable with manual work
• Must be willing to complete necessary training and qualifications
