About us
Acorn Village is an independent Charity that has been providing residential and supported living care for adults with a learning disability for almost 50 years.
Our retail outlets provide much needed additional funds to support the person centre care we we proudly offer to our residents.
We have two retail outlets, one located on our own 14 acre site with the main shop being located in the local High Street.
Job summary
We are seeking two experienced people to undertake the shared responsibility to manage both outlets.
You will have experience of leading a team of volunteers as well as shop management, ideally gained within the charity or not for profit sectors supplemented by significant retail knowledge and experience, a minimum of two years is preferred. The successful candidates must be able to demonstrate strong leadership skills to motivate the team of volunteers to be proactive and to work in line with our Charity Strategy.
Being highly organised is a must, excellent communication skills, both written and verbal are absolutely essential and time management is a crucial element to this role.
This role is considered as a hands on role with an element of manual handling being required. Applicants must be physically fit and will be expected to agree to a pre-employment health screening assessment.

Working hours of 30 per week will be spread across 6 days with the expectation of working alternate Saturdays.
