We are recruiting Band 5 Registered Nurses across our surgical wards at York Hospital, and would welcome applications from registered nurses with an active UK PIN who have an interest in developing their knowledge and skills within the surgical setting.

We currently have vacancies on various wards within the Surgery Directorate at York Hospital, including Upper and lower GI, Urology and Gynaecology, Orthopaedics, Acute Admissions, Vascular, Head and Neck.

Working as part of our dedicated multi-disciplinary teams we will value you and your contribution to delivering excellent care, and are seeking applications from compassionate, flexible and dynamic registrants who demonstrate a passion to deliver high standards at all times, and a positive experience for those in our care.

Our Clinical Educator team in surgery can offer a comprehensive induction and preceptorship programme which is tailored to your needs and that supports your individual requirements.

• Maintain a high standard of patient focused care in accordance with York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust policies and procedures.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
• Provide assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care for patients, ensuring accurate written records are kept.
• Communicate with patients and carers to ensure they have access to appropriate information.
• Promote and maintain positive relationships between all staff involved in the care of the patient.
• Act in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Council Code of Conduct
• Undertake duties on different wards/departments as and when required by service demands.
