Job Opportunity: Specialist Tutor for Children and Young People with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children and young people? We're offering an exciting Long Term opportunity for a Specialist Tutor to join our team, working with students who have Special Educational Needs (SEN).
About the Role
As a Specialist Tutor, you'll work with children and young people across a broad age range who may be disengaged from mainstream education due to reasons such as Autism, ADHD, or other additional needs, including challenging behaviour. Your expertise and dedication will play a pivotal role in improving self-confidence, building subject knowledge, and achieving positive outcomes for your students.
We are a leading, reputable provider of alternative and supplementary education, partnering with schools and local authorities to deliver one-to-one and small group tuition programmes that support students from all backgrounds.
Location: Plymouth
Job Type: Long Term
Salary: £165 per day
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver creative and engaging lesson plans tailored to individual needs.
- Support students in achieving their academic goals in a one-to-one or small group setting.
- Track and report on attendance, progress, and engagement for all sessions.
- Complete training as required and commit to safeguarding principles.

What We're Looking For:
- At least 6 months of education-based work experience in the UK.
- Knowledge of the national curriculum for your chosen subject.
- A strong commitment to safeguarding and supporting children with additional needs.
- Candidates from care, support work, or youth work backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
- UK-based and eligible to work in the UK (we are unable to offer sponsorship).
- Willingness to undertake a full DBS check and subscribe to the DBS Update Service.
