About the role




We’re looking for a dynamic and creative individual to join PA’s Entertainment team, working across our Entertainment services to
deliver high-quality, multi-media content to our wire and digital subscribers. In this role, you’ll play a key part in shaping our
entertainment coverage, creating original content, attending events, conducting interviews, and ensuring that we remain at the
forefront of breaking news and trends. This role also includes delivering our music features,



You’ll work closely with the team to contribute to our diverse output across digital, wire, video, and social media
platforms. You’ll monitor breaking news, lead news lists when needed, and track the performance of content to better understand
audience habits. Your contributions will range from news stories and opinion pieces to photo galleries and live blogs—all designed
to deliver fresh and engaging content for PA’s customers.



As part of your responsibilities, you’ll attend press events, launches, and conferences to source exclusive and original
content. You’ll also work closely with junior team members, offering guidance and stepping up when required to cover more complex
stories, including media-related topics. Flexibility is key, as you’ll be required to work within the weekly and weekend rota,
adapting to the shift patterns set by the Entertainment editor.

What you’ll need




To succeed in this role, as a senior reporter, you will have experience in breaking news and reporting on agenda-setting stories
from the world of entertainment.







You will also need:







* Strong self-management skills with a proactive approach to improving content output

* The ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key individuals and organisations

* Experience in producing fast, clean, and error-free content, even under pressure

* Excellent editorial judgement and a keen eye for spotting stories and opportunities

* A good understanding of journalism law to ensure accuracy and compliance

* A solid understanding of SEO and effective use of social media to engage audiences

* Experience working with WordPress to publish and manage content



Essential Technical Qualifications:







* Shorthand 100 WPM
* NCTJ standard qualification






Desirable Skills:







* Experience in breaking news coverage
