The role

The HVDC Engineering Interface Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring seamless integration across interfaces in our large-scale projects, enabling safe and efficient project delivery.

Reporting to the Lead HVDC Engineering Manager with responsibility for Design Interface Management governance through the execution of assigned projects (typical value £700M - £2000M). Managing a multidisciplinary engineering interface team, ensuring the requisite technical support and guidance is provided to the project team.

You will

- Promote and manage safety within project, including safety-in-design, implementation of CDM procedures and Principal Designer (PD) practice.

- Efficiently manage all design interfaces associated with the multi-contract delivery strategy, including design interfaces between HVDC, AC, civils and cables contracts.

- Line manage and lead a team of project interface engineers with responsibility for the co-ordination of all engineering interface activities, including the selection and management of engineering consultants, and the technical direction of contractors.

- Preside over technical governance, including ownership and execution of the Design Interface Management Plan and processes.

You have

- A degree in appropriate engineering discipline (preferably CEng).

- A proven track record in managing design interfaces of multi-disciplinary large capital infrastructure projects from within a contractor or client organisation.

- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills.

- An aptitude for understanding complex technical issues, and translating them into clear and concise statements (with recommendation) to inform decision making by senior management.

- Proficient knowledge and understanding of electricity networks and industry with working level understanding of pertinent legislation, such as CDM and ESQC regulations.
