40 hours per week, normal shift is Monday-Friday, 08:30-17:30 with night shifts and weekend work expected as part of the role.

Overview
As a Structural Investigations Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out on-site testing, inspections, and data collection to support structural assessments. Working closely with engineers and senior technicians, you will help ensure accurate investigations and contribute to delivering high-quality results for our clients.

This role is ideal for individuals with experience in civil or structural engineering, particularly those with a background in structural testing, inspections, or site-based investigations. A construction background will be considered if relevant testing or investigative experience is demonstrated.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct structural investigations using specialist techniques, including GPR, coring, Schmidt hammer testing, NDT, and other field-based testing methods.
Maintain, calibrate, and operate testing equipment to ensure high-quality data collection.
Work in accordance with health and safety regulations and industry best practices.
Collaborate with engineers and site managers to complete projects efficiently.
Record, organise, and report data for further engineering analysis.
Provide guidance and mentorship to Trainee Technicians, where applicable.
Person Specification

Essential

Experience in a civil or structural engineering environment (e.g., structural investigations, site testing, NDT, geotechnical or materials testing).
Ability to operate testing equipment and perform accurate on-site investigations.
Comfortable working in field-based and physically demanding environments.
Strong problem-solving, organisational, and teamwork skills.
Willingness to travel across the UK and Ireland, including overnight stays.
Full UK driving licence

Desirable

Certifications in NDT, GPR, or other structural testing techniques.
Experience with data entry and reporting related to site investigations.
