Now Hiring: Field Service Engineer – Construction Equipment
Are you a skilled engineer with a passion for heavy machinery? Ready to take on a dynamic role where no two days are the same? Join our client and play a key part in delivering first-class service to valued customers while working with industry-leading construction equipment.
Location:
You’ll be reporting to our client's Horsham depot while covering the North West London area, giving you the perfect mix of autonomy in the field with strong team support.
What You’ll Be Doing:
• Diagnose, service, and repair construction and miscellaneous equipment within your geographical area
• Identify mechanical issues using technical expertise and advanced diagnostic tools
• Promote aftermarket solutions and identify revenue opportunities during customer interactions
• Ensure exceptional customer satisfaction with clear communication and efficient service
• Complete technical reports and real-time electronic timesheets, ensuring accurate documentation
• Order and manage parts, maintaining a clean, organised work environment and service van
• Coach and support colleagues when needed, sharing your technical knowledge
What We’re Looking For:
• Formal engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds) in Plant Maintenance, Agricultural, or HGV Mechanics
• Proven experience in the repair and maintenance of heavy construction equipment
• Strong skills in diagnostics, with expertise in diesel engines, transmissions, drivetrains, hydraulics, and electrics
• IT literacy to handle diagnostic software, email, and reporting systems
• A valid full UK driving licence and the right to work in the UK
Bonus if you have:
• Welding and fabrication skills
• Advanced troubleshooting abilities in hydraulics, electrics, and emission after-treatment systems (EATS)
