Summary

Open Care Services Ltd is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Full-Time Chinese Speaking Waking Night Support Worker to join our team, providing care for a 41-year-old female client, Helen.

Helen, a wheelchair user with motor neurone disease, resides in Sale, Trafford, and requires waking night support due to weakened respiratory muscles and compromised mobility. This role involves working 8 pm – 8 am (all week), at a 1:1 basis ensuring her comfort, safety, and well-being throughout the night.

Key Responsibilities:
 Personal Care: Support with washing, dressing, toileting, and continence care.
 Mobility Support: Assist with safe moving and handling using specialist equipment (e.g., Freeway SA180C, Maxi Sky 2 ceiling lift) and reposition in bed.
 Specialized Care: Operate equipment such as non-invasive ventilators, cough assist machines, suction machines, and provide care for pressure sore prevention, passive muscle exercises, and PEG feeding (if required in the future).
 Medication Management: Administer medications according to Helen's needs.
 Daily Living Assistance: breakfast preparation, feeding, hydration, laundry, and light cleaning tasks.

Essential Requirements
 A caring, empathetic, and patient-focused attitude.
 Willingness and ability to learn fast.
 Proficiency in moving and handling techniques with experience using specialist equipment (hoists, sliding sheets, etc.).
 Up-to-date First Aid and Manual Handling certificates.
 Flexibility to work weekdays and weekends.
 Right to work in the UK.

Desirable Skills (Training Provided If Necessary)
 Experience in respiratory support: including ventilators, bowel/bladder management, and PEG feeding.
 Hands-on experience supporting wheelchair users
 Experience in management of peg feed and flashing
 Trained in specific care protocols such as ventilator care or tracheostomy management.
 Trained in management of peg feed and flashing
