An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Trainee Service and Parts Advisor to join a well-established company based in Canterbury.

About The Role:

The right candidate will show an enthusiasm for cars and the way they operate, as well as having excellent customer service skills. This role encompasses a variety of tasks in both the service and parts department, offering the right candidate a comprehensive introduction into the motor industry from both perspectives. As the first point of contact for our customers on the front desk, a helpful and welcoming disposition ensures a good first impression.

Whilst the day gets busier, you will need to be able to keep calm under pressure, listen carefully to instruction, and follow procedures thoroughly and accurately. Continuing to build a strong rapport with our existing and loyal customer base, you will also provide an exceptional customer experience for customers who are new to our business.

Working collaboratively in a small but efficient team, you will be handling a multitude of tasks throughout the day with professionalism and diligence, including the following:

• Face-to-face customer service
• Handling incoming and outgoing calls
• Advising customers on additional work required to their vehicle
• Taking comprehensive messages, leading to booking in customers as training progresses
• Estimating time and costs associated with vehicle services and repairs
• Keeping customers updated throughout their appointment
• Producing invoices and taking payments
• Preparing parts for pre-booked appointments
• Ordering stock and actioning incoming/ outgoing deliveries
• Processing warranty claims.

Skills Required:

No experience necessary as full training will be given.

You will need to be able to listen carefully to instructions, whilst taking constructive criticism in a positive light, showing an eagerness to learn. You will need the ability to ask questions, be self-motivated and have a keen eye for detail.

With a methodical approach to each task, you work with determination to not only meet, but exceed, departmental targets in sales and customer care. Delivering a consistently high standard of customer service is your highest priority throughout each day, utilising your strong communication skills.

You will be computer literate, with the ability to learn new software and programmes. Your strengths will include numeracy and literacy, ideally you will also have a clean driver’s licence.

Working hours are Monday - Friday, 8am - 6pm, plus first Saturday of the month 8am - 2pm.
