Summary
The University of Aberdeen is seeking to appoint a Curatorial Assistant to join the University Collections team. By virtue of its long history, the University of Aberdeen has accumulated outstanding material of quality and volume available in a few other universities. This collection is now in the care of University Collections which is responsible for preserving, developing and promoting the University’s collection of museum objects, scientific specimens, rare books, manuscripts and archives for research, teaching and public engagement. Successful candidates will be educated to SQA Standard Grade level, or equivalent, have a working knowledge of IT systems including (at a minimum) a thorough working knowledge of Word, Outlook, and Excel. Ensuring excellent customer service is essential and some experience of working in an archive, museums or stores environment is also desirable.
Salary will be at the appropriate point on the Grade 3 salary scale, (£24,606 - £26,038 per annum) with placement according to qualifications and experience.
This is a activity limited post available for 12 months.

This role is based in the UK and as such the successful candidate will be required to live and work in the UK.
