Summary

LawnTreat is a family run business based in Crewe that covers all of the CW postcode area. We were formally known as LawnHopper (South Cheshire) Ltd.

We have been in the lawn care industry since 2009 and have many loyal customers. We are currently expanding and are looking to recruit a new lawn technician who can work competently alone, and in a small team when required.
LawnTreat provides a programme of lawn treatments and services to keep lawns looking tip top all year round.

Our new lawn technician must hold a clean driving licence, (and be happy to drive a van) be physically fit (no need for a gym membership with this job!!), be able to follow instructions (full training given), be friendly and personable to customers, and be able to present themselves as clean and tidy (uniform provided).

An interest in horticulture and PA1 &PA6 preferred, but not necessary as training will be given.

The job is varied; our work is divided into blocks, some weeks you might be applying fertilisers and weedkillers, other weeks you will be operating machinery. You will be fully trained (if qualifications are not already held) to know how to store, measure, mix and apply fertilisers safely and within the industry regulations. You will be trained to use a knapsack sprayer and a fertiliser spreader. You will learn to identify lawn diseases, weeds etc, plus be able to analyse lawns and be able to offer appropriate advice.

You will be required to log completed work on a mobile phone (ours, not yours!) and you must be able to deliver good quality customer service and have the confidence to chat with customers.

An ability to follow a map or sat nav is required as we work across a large area and cover many rural areas. All work scheduled for one day will be geographically close together.

We do not have set work hours although you should expect to work no more than 35 hours a week. Work will usually be between the hours of 8.30am-4.00pm, however, some flexibility may be required due to weather. We do not ask our lawn technicians to do anything that we would not do ourselves. We know what is manageable and what is not. We have flexibility as we cannot control weather, traffic etc, and we expect our technicians to decide for themselves how long they need for breaks and lunch. We expect our lawn technicians to look after our vans and equipment properly and keep them clean (as is practicable). Some written tasks are expected, such as logging products used, taking payments etc.

Why work for us? If you like variety, working outdoors, meeting new people and new challenges, you will enjoy working with us. We are organised and efficient. We offer 30 days holiday per year, salary of £25,000.
Christmas shut down

Please do not apply if you have an attitude of ‘can’t be bothered’, have poor time keeping, are not conscientious, cannot follow instructions, or just want a job to fill a gap.
However, do apply if you like a good day’s graft, feel satisfaction when you can make a change to something, want to be valued as a member of a small family business, and would like a job with stability. This is a full-time role, with work all year round.
