This Secondary School is a located in the Bakersfield, Nottingham and is a school that is making changes for the future. In the recent years they have been told by Ofsted that the school requires improvement, so are looking for a high achieving Geography Graduate to help boost their schools GCSE and A-Level grades with in the humanities department. This school is heavily subscribed and is looking for geography graduate with passion for education to help raise the schools’ standards and get them back to being the best.

The head of geography the department is a long lasting highly regarded teacher at the school who really engages with the subject but also their students to create the best possible teaching experience. Over the last year the geography department took there GCSE classes to Edale to look at river catchments but also look at the different erosion processes to help students to grasp a hands-on example on how these processes work to help them then transfer this into there class work

The Role – Geography Graduate Teaching Assistant

As a Graduate Geography Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the geography department. You will work alongside experienced teachers to help deliver excellence providing additional support to those who need it.

• Supporting the delivery of Geography lessons both in the classroom and through one-to-one or small group interventions.
• Helping to motivate and inspire students in a dynamic and engaging learning environment.
• Assisting with classroom management and ensuring students remain focused engaged.
• Providing tailored support for students with additional learning needs or those who require extra support.
• Contributing to the overall development of the geography curriculum.

What we’re looking for – Geography Graduate Teaching Assistant

• A Geography Graduate with a 2:1 or above from a top 30 University with matching A-Levels and GCSE’s.
• An eager Geography graduate with a passion for a career in education.
• Have a solid understanding of Geography topics and are eager to share that knowledge with students
• Graduate with excellent communication skills with the ability to create long lasting relationships with students and staff
• Are considering future teacher training, such as a PGCE
