Would you like join a UK-wide team who are committed to making a difference in adult social care, enabling practical improvements on the ground, and making a crucial contribution to longer-term cultural change? We have an exciting opportunity to join IMPACT (‘Improving Adult Care Together’), the UK-wide centre for implementing evidence in adult social care as a Project Officer! IMPACT builds on knowledge gained from different types of research, the lived experience of people who draw on care and support and their carers and families, and the practice knowledge of social care staff. We strive to increase the use of high-quality evidence, leading to better care practices, systems and outcomes.
In this role, you will:
● Collaborate with people from across adult social care and academia to affect positive change
● Be embedded in a team of Project Officers across the UK, sharing best practice and collaborating with them on a regular basis
● Work closely with the IMPACT Networks team to review and synthesise existing research and evidence-based publications within the broad field of adult social care
● Produce evidence briefs, summaries and contribute to IMPACT-related academic publications
● Represent IMPACT and support its activities across the North of England and the East Midlands, staying ahead of policy and practice developments there, reporting on and summarising these as required.
We are looking for someone with strong relationship-building and organisational skills, and the ability to communicate and connect with a variety of audiences. In addition, the successful candidate will have experience of undertaking applied research in social care or a related setting; experience of knowledge exchange and impact work, and of taking research findings into real world application; expertise in appraising and synthesising evidence from a broad range of sources; a high level of analytical capability; and the skills needed to contribute to IMPACT’s broader management, administration and evidence implementation processes.
