Context
Susan’s Farm CIO is a registered charity delivering therapeutic and educational opportunities on an organic, pasture fed livestock farm in Northeast Cumbria. We work with a range of children, young people, and adults.
Our vision is that people’s lives are transformed by working together in purposeful outdoor activity so they can reach their full potential.
Brief
As one of our education team, you will be responsible for delivering our adult care farming education programmes. You will be responsible for designing and delivering these programmes to our communities, to an agreed target.
Education
• Plan and deliver an engaging and stimulating programme of farm and nature-based activities to a range of adult care farmers
• Work alongside our farmer in farm tasks suitable for care farmers, including with cattle and sheep
• Liaise with other agencies, such as Adult Social Care
• Take responsibility for referral process for new care farmers
• Maintain and develop appropriate records to support both care farmer health and well-being, and to support data requirements, which may change from time to time
• Support with grant applications for future funding
Involving volunteers
• Engage care farm volunteers and work experience students in their roles
Health and safety
• Ensure that all sessions are undertaken in line with Health and Safety Regulations
• Ensure that all sessions are undertaken in line with Susan’s Farm H&S policies, which may provide additional guidance to meet specific requirements of CF cohorts.
• Ensure compliance with SF safeguarding policies ( e.g. Adult at risk of harm, safeguarding and Prevent Policy, Safe Driving at Work Policy
• and Technology and social media policy)
Other
• In collaboration with the rest of the team, ensure that the farm is always a safe, clean, friendly, and welcoming place for all people working and visiting the site
• Promote Susan’s Farm and partner organisations whenever possible
• Abide by all our charity’s policies
• Undertake other duties as requested by your line manager and in line with the post
