Summary
A Vacancy at Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust.
We are looking to appoint a GP with special interest to provide medical monitoring and management to patients who are under the care of the Eating Disorders Service. You will provide assessment and management of patients who are at risk of or who have developed medical complications of their eating disorder. You will also be involved in assessment and management of comorbidities which impact upon the patient’s eating disorder, including liaison with other professionals.

A GP is not expected to have expertise in mental health or eating disorders beyond the level of a GP when they commence their role. They will be closely supported by a consultant psychiatrist and be provided with relevant training to develop the necessary expertise to be able to work with greater independence over time. It is expected that after a reasonable period of time in the role they will be able to practice independently for most aspects but can access clinical supervision from a consultant psychiatrist as needed.
