Summary

Hull City Council’s Housing Access Service is a multi-disciplinary function which provides comprehensive housing advice designed to prevent homelessness and rough sleeping. We help customers find realistic and sustainable housing solutions which meet their needs from a range of options including the allocation of available council homes.
We are looking for one full-time (37hrs) Housing Assessments & Advice Assistant, and one full-time, fixed-term (12 months) Housing Assessments & Advice Assistant, based in the Assessments & Advice Team within the service.
This team are responsible for assessing customer housing applications, triaging, and responding to customer queries, and providing housing advice to customers as required. This role will be part of the initial point of contact for customers seeking rehousing and will facilitate the triage of their housing application whilst providing support and advice in accordance with the customer’s needs and circumstance. This role also involves responding to queries received to housing inboxes via emails and service requests relating to homeless cases, other rehousing queries, and queries relating to housing applications.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Housing Assessments & Advice Officers and other teams within Housing Access, the Council, and external agencies. Therefore, good interpersonal skills are required for this role.
The team currently operates from the city centre however staff may be required to work from different locations throughout the city, according to the needs of the service.
