Principal (8b) clinical/counselling psychologist/ practitioner psychologist

This is a newly created psychological leadership role within the Salford community based secondary care service. The postholder will be joining, and clinically leading, a friendly and enthusiastic team of Clinical Psychologists, CBT-p therapists and Mental Health Wellbeing Practitioners, and will be working within a wider system of care structured by the principles of compassionate leadership.

The postholder's main duties will include

• providing clinical leadership for all aspects of psychological work carried out by CMHT psychology staff;

• providing and maintaining oversight of clinical supervision via a cascade model;
• working with a small number of clients and, when appropriate, their families, friends and/or carers;
• contributing to MDT case discussions, and supporting CMHT psychology staff to support their teams within their MDT discussions;
• providing consultancy sessions, and supporting senior staff in their provision of consultancy work;
• providing specific formulation-focused case discussion sessions and supporting others within the specialist team to deliver this work;
• delivering and supporting others to deliver reflective practice sessions;
• liaising with other psychology clinical leads within community and acute services;
• proactively liaising with community operational managers;
• representing the secondary care community psychology service at a range of meetings;
• supporting the continual professional development of members of the psychology team, and non-psychology colleagues in the wider service behind the provision of training opportunities.
• Contributing to the design and implementation of methods of service evaluation
