A vacancy has arisen for a Burner based at our Hartlepool facility.
The purpose of the Burner is to carry out all activities in a safe manner, in accordance with company procedure and to ensure that all material processed adheres to grade specification, and customers’ request.
Key accountabilities of the Burner include:
1. Preparing purchased scrap through the use of a burning torch
2. Examine unprepared scrap to ensure conformance with company standards
3. Maintains torching environment in line with company controls
4. Liaise with Yard Foreman to ensure specification for material processed
5. Ensure activities carried out comply with company procedures
6. Carry out daily visual inspections of equipment for safety
7. Attend any training courses that the company proposes
8. Ensure the working area is kept in a clean and tidy state at all times
9. Ensure that all Environmental, Health and Safety requirements are adhered to on site
10. Perform such other duties as the Company may from time to time reasonably require
11. Comply with all Company policies related to Code of Conduct, Environmental, Health and Safety and Community
Applicants will have experience in oxy propane cutting and possess knowledge of and be capable of wearing a respirator. A proven track record of working within a team environment is required, as well as being self motivated, flexible and adaptable. Exceptional organisational skills are important with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
