Job Advert

We’re looking for forward-thinking and proactive individuals to join our Apprenticeship programme to become a Chartered Building
Surveyor and help grow our ever-expanding teams throughout Carter Jonas. This apprenticeship programme provides a fantastic
opportunity to gain a bachelor’s degree with one of our trusted providers, while working towards your APC (Assessment of
Professional Competence) to become a Chartered Building Surveyor.




Over five years, you’ll split your time between studying and hands-on work. You’ll receive 7.5 hours of dedicated study time each
week (equivalent to one day), with the remaining four days spent contributing to exciting, real-world projects as part of your
day-to-day tasks. In your third year, you’ll join our APC Training Academy with the aim of qualifying as a Chartered Building
Surveyor.






Main tasks:

* Building surveys for purchase and lease
* Project management
* Measured surveys
* Preparing drawings and specifications
* Building design and contract administration
* Party walls
* Dilapidations
* Diagnosing building defects such as subsidence, damp and rot.
* Insurance Reinstatement valuations






What does it take to be successful?

We are looking for a forward-thinking school leaver with a can-do attitude and good organisational, time management and customer
service skills. It is essential that you possess GCSE Mathematics and English at Grade 4 (or C) and above and a minimum of 96 UCAS
tariff points
