About the role of Material Buyer:
Exciting opportunity for a London or Hertfordshire (maximum 1 hour commute) based material buyer with joinery experience to join an established Boreham Wood based business and oversee a junior buyer's development. Team is very sociable so personality and energy will be key. Previous experience at a joinery business is the key. A background at a reputable main contractor is not necessary. Requirement is urgent so candidates who can start immediately or in the near future would be ideal.
Responsibilities for Material Buyer:
- Be able to investigate new potential suppliers to strengthen their supply chain.
- Ideally good knowledge of curtain wall, doors and building materials.
- Sourcing, negotiating purchasing materials.
- Understanding of project contractual requirements and ensure these are relayed to suppliers and sub-contractors as required.
Requirements for Material Buyer:
- Within a 1-hour commute of the Boreham Wood office.
- Experience working as a buyer at a joinery or construction-based business.
- Good communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships.
