Summary

Are you a self-starter with experience of delivering engagement programmes and are looking for a role in a fast paced, business facing team?

This is an exciting opportunity to join Small Business Growth to support in an engagement team enthusiastic about small businesses. The successful candidate will play a fast paced and reactive role in supporting the co-ordination of Ministerial engagement with small business partners, designing and leading engagement activity, providing strategic insight and working to influence policy teams on the important issues affecting small businesses, including through the Small Business Growth Forum.

There is also the opportunity to work closely with central Government including No 10 and Cabinet office on small business engagement programmes and play a key role in supporting cross Government campaigns including Small Business Saturday and activity in the run up to the launch of the Small Business Strategy.

Key roles and responsibilities:

  • Initiate, run and support delivery of time-limited projects on small business-related engagement, work closely with other divisions, in particular the small business strategy team.
  • Bring together qualitative and quantitative information to support the development of policy relating to small businesses.
  • Work directly with senior leaders across Government and business, ministerial private offices and with Senior Civil Servants.
  • Work closely with policy teams to identify policy gaps, using engagement to inform the evidence base and prioritise policy suggestions to develop proposals.
  • Build strong links across other Government departments, DBT Directorates, Private Offices and wider policy teams.
