Summary
Key Areas of Responsibility in this role are:
Advise the Commanding Officer (CO), Chain of Command (CoC) and individuals on soldier Career Management (CM).
Provide the unit focus for Professional and Personal Development advice on soldier career and vocational education, learning and education.
Provide informed advice to soldiers on assignment options and provide guidance on completion of Posting Preference Proformas (PPPs).
Develop the Unit Retention Plan, conducting appropriate career counselling and interviews to soldiers who have applied to terminate service and encourage those that the CO wishes to retain to consider remaining or transferring.
Provide 1st Line Resettlement advice and continued support to individuals throughout the process.
Facilitate applications for inter cap badge and inter service transfers; highlight alternative Army employment and process transfers.
Administer and advise the CO and CoC on unit soldier grading boards, reviewing unit procedures and ensure compliance with MS direction is adhered to.
Attend Army Personnel Centre (APC) boards when specified and especially Assignment Boards, usually to be accompanied by a unit military representative such as the Regimental Sergeant Major (RSM).
Line Manage the Executive Office who is the Assistant RCMO, providing their professional development, along with annual objectives and appraisal.
