Summary
Duties of the role include but are not limited to: Clinical team leadership, direction, support, and guidance to a team of highly skilled Pain Specialist Nurses and Allied Healthcare Professionals (AHPs) to deliver an occupationally focused Pain Management resource within a rehabilitation service, in collaboration with wider Defence Medical Services (DMS) including Primary Care, Occupational Health and Mental Health, and the Chain of Command (CoC). Providing a pain intervention clinic to facilitate rehab and function within the larger MDT. Coordination of surgical, medical, rehabilitation, psychological and social care input to ensure delivery of a patient-centred, integrated, biopsychosocial model of care. Attending and leading Pain clinics, Specialist Rehabilitation Multi-disciplinary assessment clinics (MIACs) and review clinics as per individual job plan (to be agreed and signed off by Clinical Director annually). Assessing patients at regular intervals (including course admission and discharge etc) to review progress, in their long-term condition.
