Are you interested in Signalling & Telecoms?

Do you enjoy hands on problem solving and fixing electrical problems?

Do you want to work for a company who get railway passengers from A to B safely?

Then this might be a role for you!

We are looking to recruit for a range of roles within our Signalling & Telecoms team across the Liverpool area. We want to fill Operative, Technician and Team Leader roles which could be based out of one of our depots located in Liverpool Central, Edge Hill, Crewe, Chester & Warrington.

As part of the role you will undertake inspection, faulting, signalling maintenance and telecoms installation. An Operative is the first step in an S&T career but there are progression opportunities into Technician then Team Leader roles.

You will be enrolled on a 6-12 month training programme, which involves classroom and practical hands-on learning experiences. You will also be partnered with an experienced member of staff to help aid your training.

Signalling & Telecoms (S&T) offers a dynamic and diverse role that combines both electrical and mechanical engineering skills. There is a variety in tasks, from using electronic testing equipment to measuring critical electrical parameters, to working with mechanical systems that guide trains, this ensures that no two days are the same.

You will be working on tasks such as:

· Electrical measurements: Using advanced testing equipment to check the performance of signalling systems and ensure everything is running safely.

· Mechanical work: Troubleshooting and repairing mechanical components, like the systems that control train directions, adds a hands-on, practical element to the role.

We value individuals with transferable skills, a willingness to learn and want to develop new skills. This includes people who have experience with:

· Basic electrical work (e.g., wiring up new light fittings).

· Mechanical problem-solving (e.g., repairing car engine faults).

· Computerised logic systems (e.g., understanding and troubleshooting automated systems).

Whether you're new to the field or bringing experience from another technical discipline, there are plenty of opportunities for growth and advancement within Network Rail.
