We are seeking a great Farm and Attraction Worker with an engaging and friendly personality to join our team working on the farm at The Rare Breeds Centre.

AS A FARM AND ATTRACTION WORKER YOU WILL:

o Undertake general farm work
o Ensure the wellbeing of livestock
o Maintain animal enclosures
o Assist with providing the daily visitor events
o Support the smooth and safe running of the Rare Breeds Centre as a farm, visitor attraction and life skills provider
o Drive farm vehicles including a tractor with ancillary attachments


This Farm and Attraction Worker role is being offered on a permanent full time contract. The hours are 37.5 per week (between 07:30 and 17:30) and you will be required to work alternate weekends with 2 days off before or after your working weekend. Due to our rural location you will need your own transport.

AS A FARM AND ATTRACTION WORKER YOU WILL IDEALLY HAVE OR WILLING TO LEARN:

o One years' practical knowledge and experience of working with and handling a range of small and large livestock
o Experience of driving tractors and ancillary attachments
o Competent in the use of hand tools and farm machinery
o Experience of working with/alongside adults with learning disabilities
o A friendly and engaging personality with excellent customer service skills
o A full UK (Manual) driving licence and be aged 21 or over

THE RARE BREEDS CENTRE AND CANTERBURY OAST TRUST:

Canterbury Oast Trust owns and runs the Rare Breeds Centre, a busy tourist farm attraction with more than 130,000 visitors a year.

The Farm is a great day out to see traditional rare breed animals, play in the parks, and ride on the tractor.

APPOINTMENTS:

All appointments are subject to pre-employment checks including:

o Proof of eligibility to work in the UK
o An enhanced check with the Disclosure and Barring Service
o Two satisfactory references (one of which must be from your current or most recent employer)
o A full and detailed employment history
o A full manual driving licence; Aged 21 or over (insurance purposes)
