Crynodeb
The Memory Protection Service opened in 2012. It was specifically commissioned to provide early access to high quality assessment & initial treatment for people presenting with a wide range of cognitive complaints and difficulties that might be indicative of neurodegenerative dementia. The service has recently been reaccredited by Memory Services national Accreditation Programme (MSNAP). The MPS is based at Monkwearmouth Hospital in Sunderland. The service has a well-resourced and comprehensive multi-disciplinary team and receives excellent administrative support. Applicants should be on the Specialist Register or be within 6 months of obtaining CCT at the point of interview. Candidates should be suitably qualified, including eligibility for Section 12 approval and Approved Clinician status.
