An exciting job with Wales' leading cancer charity, to help people affected by cancer have their voices heard and get the care and support they deserve. It’s a key role, working with colleagues and partners to make sure we identify systemic cancer issues and work together to do something about them so the best cancer care and treatment is made available across Wales. The post holder will be key in making that change happen by working closely with people at the heart of these issues.

Being a new role, there’s scope to create new self-advocacy initiatives within this quickly growing area of our work, engaging directly with communities to ensure their needs are met. Partnership working is key to success and the post holder will work closely with organisations who provide direct advocacy support. Through engagement with our All Wales Cancer Community and our own policy & insight colleagues, it is vital that insight gained from this work translates into direct improvements for people affected by cancer...That’s where you come in!

This means outside of our core 11am-3pm hours you can suit work around your lifestyle and personal commitments. We operate our work flexibly between 7am – 9pm so you can do things like the school runs or fit in wellness activities and hobbies with your working life.

Based in a community in Wales you can work from home. This role can also be based from our Cardiff Head Office. We encourage as much Head Office working as possible but would expect at least a quarterly attendance with the ability to travel across Wales as needed.

We’re looking for skills, knowledge or experience to show us you’ve:
•The communication and relationship management skills when it comes to working with a variety of organisations, teams and people to collaborate, influence and find workable solutions to create positive change
•An understanding of the workings of the Health & Social Care and Local Authority systems, their processes and barriers to patients and users accessing them
•Managed projects from scoping to delivery including gathering and managing data and insight to produce reports, successfully influenced for change and presented information skilfully
•Worked with a range of people and been successful in a role where you have done things such as advocated for change, empowered others or made noise through persuasion, changed policies, highlighted key issues and brought in solutions (if this is within the cancer or health landscape even better)
