Crynodeb

Fulbourn Action for Youth (FA4Y) is a registered charity occupying purpose-built facilities designed for the benefit of young people and families in Fulbourn. Located in the Fulbourn Hub alongside the Scout hall and parish council offices, it boasts a well-equipped youth lounge, a dedicated music practice studio, office, and use of a kitchen / café area. We currently run 3 weekly youth club evening sessions for a range of ages (typically 10 to 17), as well as providing music practice facilities for local groups at other times.

We are looking for an imaginative, well-organised, and confident youth leader with a passion for inspiring young people to reach for their best selves!

Experience of working with young people, energy, enthusiasm and reliability are essential. A JNC qualification in youth and community work or other relevant youth work qualifications are desirable but not essential. Safeguarding training is desirable for this role, however full training can be given prior to starting.

As the Youth Club Lead, you will oversee the continued success of existing activities, including leading the youth club evening sessions on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, and overseeing the music practice studio.

This role will also develop the programme to maximise the effectiveness of FA4Y facilities for related groups (e.g. young family / parents), as well as increase support and guidance for young people who may be struggling with difficult situations or conditions.

Responsible to: FA4Y Trustees

Duties and Key Responsibilities:
● Leading, inspiring and safeguarding the young people who attend.
● Oversee the running of the youth clubs and music studio.
● Planning and delivery of activities which may lead to accredited programmes or wider recognition.

● Develop FA4Y provisions & services to maximise their effectiveness.
● Represent FA4Y at various partnership meetings and events.
● Liaise with, support and oversee other youth club support workers.
● Liaise with parents and guardians of the young people attending the youth clubs.
● Liaise and work collaboratively with a range of individuals, organisations and agencies for support and delivery, e.g. educational organisations, volunteer groups, churches, grant-holders.
● Liaise with Trustees of FA4Y for support and guidance.

While the role description outlines specific tasks, we are open to discussing how your unique skills and interests can contribute to fulfill the FA4Y mission.
