The Opportunity:
Moray House School of Education and Sport is inviting applications for Associate Tutor (Dissertation Supervisor) in Language Education to support the supervision of student dissertations for Postgraduate programmes in the Institute for Language Education.
We are seeking candidates with expertise in the following areas:
Language Education / TESOL / Language and Intercultural Communication
Research Methods
This post is fixed term from March 2025 to October 2025 and on a Guaranteed Hours contract. Each tutor will be offered a guaranteed minimum offer of hours to work with course organisers in a range of supervision related activities including attending training sessions, delivering face to face supervision meetings, providing feedback, participating in standardisation and moderation sessions and marking assessed elements of the courses.
The salary for this post is UE07 £40,247 to £47,874 per annum, pro rata.
Your skills and attributes for success:
Several years relevant classroom teaching experience, ideally in a subject related area.
A postgraduate degree relevant to the teaching area, preferably a PhD or equivalent.
Highly effective teaching communication skills, including the ability to explain concepts in a clear and understandable manner.
Demonstrable critical, informed and scholarly capacity to engage with a range of teaching mediums, including virtual learning environments and online platforms.
