Crynodeb

We are a large and growing Oncology team as we plan and prepare for the development of our new Cambridge Cancer Research Hospital.https://www.cambridgecancer.org.uk/our-hospital/ Our Dietetic Team of over 100 Dietitians covers a range of specialities including Cancer, Critical Care, Neurosurgery, Hepatology, Renal, Organ Transplants, Gastroenterology, Paediatrics, Diabetes, Cardiology and Obesity. We have a very active social committee and EDI group and regularly hold social events both inside and outside the hospital. In addition, the Trust also has social fitness centre on site. Our Oncology specialist MDTs are very inclusive and supportive and we have a strong presence within them. This is an onsite, clinical post at CUH. The department operates over the hours of 9-5 although there may be opportunities for some flexible working. We would consider (application numbers dependent and whether we can successfully recruit suitably qualified Dietitians applicants at Band 6 level) to explore this position as a progression post for a suitably qualified Band 5 looking to develop towards a Band 6 within Oncology Dietetics. Please consider applying if you have experience at Band 5 level and would like to be considered, should this opportunity arise. However, this does not guarantee you will be shortlisted to interview in the event of large application numbers at Band 6. The Department has a thriving and well regarded Research Group and has supported staff with post graduate qualifications, offering junior staff or those new to research guidance and support in research skills development. Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (CUH) is an internationally renowned teaching hospital based on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus, housing Royal Papworth Hospital, Astra Zeneca, MRC and the Institute for Public Health; all linking with CUH. A number of our staff house share to make Cambridge a friendly and affordable location to start your Dietetic career; on-site accommodation may also be an option. Newly appointed and existing staff can apply for a loan of up to £3000 to cover the cost of the deposit, any fees and contribution towards the first months rent. Check out our Twitter page to see what we are currently doing: @CUH_dietitians We would welcome visits from anyone interested in applying for these posts to meet the team and have a look around. We operate flexible working hours when it fits in with the clinical service. We are happy to consider a Band 5 to Band 6 development role for those with less experience who are enthusiastic about this area. One post is permanent and one post is for a Fixed Term / Secondment opportunity until 31 March 2026. Part Time and job shares can also be considered. Please see the attached Applicant Information Pack (combined Job Description and Person Specification) for key duties and responsibilities. Please note:- Internal applicants on permanent contracts can only apply for the fixed term post as a secondment and must have the approval of your current line manager before applying. Due to Home Office immigration rules, a full time permanent vacancy cannot be filled by individuals on a Student visa. Therefore, please be advised that if you are a Student visa holder, we will not be able to offer you a full time permanent contract unless you have: applied for a Graduate visa or you will have successfully completed your course and have applied for a Graduate visa before the anticipated start date of your employment or the Trust has agreed that they will Sponsor you as a Skilled Worker and you will complete your studies within 3 months of the anticipated start date of employment The advert will close at midnight on 5 February 2025. Interviews are due to be held in the week commencing 10 February 2025. Benefits to you At Cambridge University Hospitals, we want to do all we can to support good working days. We offer development opportunities and a wide range of benefits, including on-site leisure facilities, shopping concourse and day nurseries. Park and Ride bus journeys between Babraham Road and Trumpington sites are free, as is the route to and from Cambridge train station and our hospitals. We also subsidise the cost of parking on site for eligible staff. On CUH campus, hot food is available 24/7 and at a reduced cost for colleagues. Recently we launched the first of our staff pod break spaces. Located in the Deakin Centre, we have a purpose-created colleague-only caf, with free tea and coffee, a break space and private outside area for colleagues to rest, refuel and recharge. Just one of the ways we are working hard to support good working days at CUH. CUH is committed to assisting employees in achieving a good work-life balance irrespective of role or personal circumstances. Flexible arrangements may include, but are not limited to, part-time working, job-share, term-time working and flexible start and finish times.
