We invite applications for a permanent consultant post in Cornea



This post is designed to provide sub-specialist cornea and external eye disease services for patients at the Bristol Eye Hospital (BEH).

The successful candidate will complement the existing corneal team and will be expected to play an active role in the running of the corneal firm. He or she will also be expected to participate in the workload of the department should the need arise. There is a 1 in10 Category B (low frequency) Consultant on call commitment associated with this post.

The Bristol Eye Hospital (BEH) is a Regional Centre for Ophthalmology. Ophthalmology sits within the Division of Surgery, within University Hospitals Bristol. BEH provides a tertiary referral service for cornea and external eye diseases.



Interviews will be held on Wednesday 26thMarch 2025.

The post holder will work with the friendly enthusiastic corneal team to deliver general and sub speciality corneal services for Bristol and surrounding areas (circa 1 million) and tertiary referral specialist services for Bristol the wider Southwest region. The post holder will have clinical sessions at both the Bristol Eye Hospital and its outreach services.
