Summary

Job Summary
We are a small charity seeking a Finance Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing monthly payroll, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations, in our case the Charity Commission and our funders, primarily The National Community Lottery Fund. This role requires proficiency and a solid understanding of financial services to support our organisation's financial health.
Responsibilities
• Oversee accounts payable processes, ensuring timely and accurate payments to suppliers and vendors.
• Maintain and update financial records with a view to upgrading to using the SAGE Accounting package in the near future.
• To ensure all financial information is accurately recorded and easily retrievable.
• Prepare financial reports and statements in MS Excel to inform and assist One to One's trustees.
• To support for budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Assist in the implementation of financial policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
• Monitor cash flow and assist in managing the organisation's finances effectively.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards within the finance sector.
Requirements
• Proven experience in financial services or a similar role is essential.
• Proficiency in accounting software such as Sage is highly desirable as we hope to move onto SAGE. If not then training will be provided.
• Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and general accounting principles.
• Excellent data entry skills with a keen eye for detail to maintain accuracy in financial records.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently as part of a team which includes manager and co-ordinator in a relaxed office setting.
• A relevant degree or professional qualification in finance or accounting is advantageous but not mandatory.
